Transitions Program - Office Based Opioid Treatment (OBOT)
Suboxone and Subutex Therapy
The Transitions Program is a office-based opioid treatment program where patients who qualify will receive treatment for opioid addiction on an outpatient basis through counseling, group therapy, and a prescription for Buprenorphine (Suboxone or Subutex). Once admitted, patients will be assigned a licensed counselor who along with the Medical Director, will guide them through the program. Below is a detailed description of Office-Based Opioid Treatment Programs from the American Society of Addiction Medicine.
Office-Based Opioid Treatment (OBOT): OBOT refers to models of opioid agonist treatment that seek to integrate the treatment of opioid addiction into the general medical and psychiatric care of the patient. The foundation of OBOT is the conceptualization of opioid addiction as a chronic medical condition with similarity to many other chronic conditions.
